Əfqan Muxtarlı
Əfqan Muxtarlı (* 1974 ; internationally spelled Afgan Mukhtarli ) is an Azerbaijani journalist .
Life
Mukhtarli became known, among other things, for his research on corruption in the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense. Since 2015 he has lived in exile in Tbilisi , the capital of Georgia, where he was kidnapped on May 29, 2017 and arrested in Azerbaijan one day later. Despite international protests, Afgan Mukhtarli was sentenced to 6 years in prison on January 12, 2018.
