… Who Calls So Loud (or … who calls so loud ) is an emocore band from San Francisco , California / USA .
history
After the legendary Screamo group Funeral Diner broke up in 2007, the two bandmates Matt Bajda and Dave Mello founded today's formation after a while.
In 2008 the group released their debut album as a 2 × 10 "with an accompanying CD on the Berlin- based label Adagio830 -Records and Sorry Records . In 2008 a 12" LP also followed.
style
The band's music is of course determined by the former Funeral Diner project of the two founders of the group. Even more clearly, however, are some new style elements that can be assigned less to the screamo subgenre and more clearly to the more classic emotional hardcore .
The song structure is less cacophonic, although fixed song structures like verse and chorus are typically completely absent. Abrupt changes in rhythm, volume and tempo are also characteristic, with mid-tempo pieces and song parts predominating.
In contrast to the quite epic and experimental screamo band Funeral Diner, the aggressive, brutal outbursts of anger and the associated dominant aggressive-emotional screaming parts are missing. In … who calls so loud, on the other hand, there are mainly half-screamed, sometimes emotionally sung lyrics, which are supplemented by short, desperately screamed parts.
At Green Hell you can read about the band's sound:
“EmoCore steeped in despair and deeply rooted in the 90s. Intense and rough, but at the same time equipped with lots of drive and melody. "
