.krd is a generic top-level domain (gTLD) operated by the Department of Information Technology of the Kurdistan Regional Government . It was announced on July 18, 2014 and is intended for the entire Kurdistan region . The registration with the IANA took place on July 10th, 2014. The technical server administration is taken over by the Kurdish regional government in Erbil .

The government of the autonomous region of Kurdistan has received the first domain with gov.krd .
