content

The boy Teito Klein does not remember his past and just keeps having vague dreams of a man and a church. Teito was able to escape his slave life when he was appointed to the Barsburg Military Academy. Teito can use the Zaiphon , a rare and valuable supernatural power. After a year at the academy, he and his good friend Mikage passed the final exam. The two swear to stick together forever.

After the exam, Teito runs into the chief of staff, Ayanami. Then he remembers that he murdered his father, whom he kept dreaming of. So now he tries to kill Ayanami, but is stopped and arrested. With the help of Mikage, Teito is able to flee to the neighboring 7th district, where he finds asylum with seven bishops. He learns that his father, the King of Raggs, was killed by Ayanami and that the empire was destroyed by the Barsburg Empire. Ayanami looked for Michael's Eye, which is now owned by Teito.
