The 1st Cyclists Association 1892 Schweinfurt e. V. is dedicated to maintaining cycling. The club is actively represented with youth and elite players at the 2-man bike ball, and there is also a group of hikers.

In the successful history of the association there were different departments in the areas of hiking (bike, moped), parade driving, cycling and indoor cycling ( cycling , cycling polo ).

With effect from April 8, 1920, the cycling club "Diana" joined the Germania Veloclub in 1911, the date of the registration certificate is June 13, 1892. Since then, the name of the amalgamation of the two clubs 1. Cyclists Association 1892 Schweinfurt e. V.

The sport year

In addition to the compulsory round of games, the teams take part in tournaments at home and abroad, such as the ARBÖ Sankt Pölten international Leopoldi tournament . Once a year the club organizes an international tournament itself.
In 2006 the youth hiking cup, donated by the city ​​of Schweinfurt , finally went to the 1st youth team of RV 1889 Schweinfurt . This sporting event continued the following year with a new challenge cup .
The cyclists meet every Sunday from April to October and tackle tours with a distance of between 30 km and 130 km. The highlight is a visit to the cycle race around Nuremberg's old town with international participation.

Personalities

Philipp Zimmermann

was the first chairman of the association from 1957 to 1997. However, his voluntary work began in 1951 as a youth leader. For his many years of activity, he was awarded the city plaque for special services to sport in the city of Schweinfurt in 1982 and in 1997 with the Bavarian Prime Minister's badge for services to women and men who do volunteer work. He also received numerous honors from the associations. Philipp Zimmermann has been an honorary member of the association since 1992, honorary chairman since 1997 and a member of the Bundesehrengilde (BDR) since 1993 .

Club successes

Parade driving / hiking

  • In 1914, the club won first prize in the parade at the federal festival in Augsburg.
  • In 1952, the cyclists (cyclists) achieved 3rd place in the annual BDR ranking with 10,000 km.
  • Martin Vogel won the state championship in 1957 and Justin Nöth in 1958 when it came to hiking in the moped class.
  • In 1960 and '61 Franz Rink was national winner in the moped touring class
  • In 1963, the cyclists were national winners in class B.

Cycling

  • In 1908 Leopold Köhler won the Marienbad-Karlsbad race and thus the Kaiser Franz Josef Prize on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the throne.
  • In 1934 the team Fritz Schellhorn, Reinhold Wendel, Hans Heller, Karl Brunner, Christian Schmidt, Ludwig Seufert set a new German record (2: 27.54) in the 100 km 4-man team race on the route Nuremberg - Bamberg - Nuremberg in this discipline the title of 2nd German Master; as in 1935.
  • In 1938 Hans Heller won 2nd place on the Munich - Milan long-distance journey.

Indoor cycling

Bike ball

  • The Endreß / Eyring team was Bavarian youth champion and 3rd South German champion in 1964.
  • In 1965, the Endreß / Eyring team achieved successes: Bavarian champion, South German champion, 5th place in the German championship, German youth prize.

Cycling polo

  • In 1967 the Streng / Streng team won the Bavarian Championship and became 2nd German Champion
