Lists on the subject

The 10.4 × 20 mm R cartridge (also 10.35 mm Glisenti or 10.4 mm Italian Ordonnanz ( 10.40 Ord. It. )) Was developed for the Italian Glisenti army revolver model 1874 and also in the successor model, the Bodeo - Army revolver used model 1889.

The cartridge was a black powder cartridge with a 11.66 g lead bullet, which reached a muzzle velocity of 240 m / sec and an energy of around 340 joules . A full metal jacket bullet was later used, for which the case was shortened to maintain the overall length of the cartridge. The designation 10.4 × 20.2 mm R was retained. The production of the cartridge at Fiocchi continued at least until 1960.

In Switzerland, a closely related variant was introduced as the Ordonanz revolver cartridge in 1878 (also known as "10.4 mm central Suisse") and used for the Swiss Ordonanz revolver in 1872 .
