101.5 The Hawk (CIGO-FM) is a private radio broadcaster based in Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia , Canada . The adult contemporary station can be received on FM 101.5.
CIGO-FM began broadcasting its program on October 29, 1975 on medium wave. In November 1999 the station received approval to broadcast on VHF. The station covers the counties of Inverness, Richmond, Antigonish and Guysborough, but can also be received in adjacent areas.
On June 8, 2010, the operator of the station, MacEachern Broadcasting Limited, applied for an increase in transmission power. The competent authority approved this, and on September 17, 2010, the transmitter increased the transmission power from 19,000 to 40,000 watts.
