The regulation also applies to motorhomes registered abroad, provided that the vehicle documents clearly show that the total weight does not exceed 7.5 t.

The ordinance was issued by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing and came into force on May 30, 2005. It was originally limited to December 31, 2009. The time limit was deleted with effect from November 5, 2009, so that the regulation is valid for an unlimited period.
