A former parsonage is located at 123 Gariemore on the Scottish Hebridean island of Barra . In 1985 the building was added to the Scottish Monuments Lists in Category C.

history

The building was built in the early 19th century or around the middle of the century and served as a rectory. It has been empty since around 1950 and its condition deteriorated noticeably. In 1997 the house was placed on the Register of Endangered Scottish Monuments. The building was last described as unchanged and vacant in 2008. The overall condition is classified as very poor and the hazard as critical. It is open and is accessible to animals up to the upper floor.

description

The symmetrically constructed front of the two-story building faces south. The simple lattice windows are arranged along the Harl- plastered facade in three vertical axes. The entrance door is in the middle and ends with a simple small skylight . There is a slate-covered gable roof with chimneys on the gable surfaces and small skylights. The stairwell is located in a stair tower protruding from the center of the rear, which ends with a hipped roof . On the left is a one-story wing with three window axes.
