At 13 Kilmoluaig on the Scottish Hebridean island of Tiree there is a typical island house. It is located in the small scattered settlement Kilmoluaig in the northwest of the island. In 1981 the building was listed in the Scottish Monuments List in the highest category A.

description

The exact construction time of 13 Kilmoluaig is not recorded, so that only the early 19th century can be given as the construction period. The one-story house is built in the traditional Hebridean style. The property consists of a residential building with barns and stables connected on both sides. The squat looking house consists essentially of massive dry stone masonry , which is partly grouted with mortar and partly limed on the front. The central residential building ends with a thatched hipped roof . The northern barn has a modern roof covered with felt . The southern of the three buildings is now only preserved as a ruin.
