2006 QV89

2006 QV 89 is a small near-Earth asteroid of the Apollo type with an estimated diameter of 20 to 50 meters from the brightness . He got into the news because of a strike one on September 9, 2019 probability of about 10 -4 existed and by targeted Peeking with the Very Large Telescope of ESO was expelled on 4 and 5 July of 2019. It was the first time that an impact risk was minimized by non-observation . The probability of impacts in later years, at 3.3 · 10 −6, is negligible compared to the general risk from near-Earth asteroids.

The asteroid was discovered on August 29, 2006 at an approach of 0.02  AU (3,000,000 km). He has not been observed since September 8, 2006.
