24plus is a forwarding and logistics cooperation based in Hauneck in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in Hesse .

The cooperation offers its members and their customers a general cargo network in Europe and additional logistical value-added services. 66 companies or branches of companies are currently working together as system partners in the cooperation. The majority of the system partners are also shareholders (limited partners) of 24plus Systemverkehre GmbH & Co. KG. The companies form a uniform transport network with defined performance standards. 50 partners are based in Germany. The other European countries are looked after by 16 other system partners who take on hub functions in their countries and regions .

In April 2016, the general cargo cooperation 24plus and Online Systemlogistik announced that they were working on a merger concept. Both general cargo networks had already entered into a strategic cooperation in 2014.

Business figures

According to the company, 5.38 million general cargo shipments were moved in the cooperation network in 2019. The tonnage moved in the network totaled 1.32 million tons (previous year: also around 1.3 million tons). This makes 24plus one of the largest general cargo networks in Germany. Around 80 percent of the volumes in the 24plus network are handled via direct transport. The remaining shipments are sent via one of the three hubs .

organization

24plus logistics network is a forwarding and logistics cooperation. Stefan Rehmet has been managing the cooperation since 2019. The supervisory board of 24plus Systemverkehre GmbH & Co. KG consists of Uwe Müller (managing partner of Robert Müller GmbH, Saarlouis), Christoph Kleine (managing partner of Spedition Kleine GmbH & Co. KG, Grevenbroich), Herbert Weber (managing director of Lagermax Internationale Spedition GmbH, Salzburg, Austria) and Heinz Wolf, Managing Director of Michael Wolf OHG (Straubing).

24plus logistics network operates three hubs in Germany : the central hub in Hauneck , the regional hub north in Garbsen near Hanover and the regional hub south in Ludwigsburg . The central hub in Hauneck handles an average of around 800 tonnes per night, while the two regional hubs handle around 200 tonnes on average each day. The central hub has 104 gates and a handling capacity of 250 tons per hour.

Every company that is a member of 24plus controls at least the central hub on a daily basis. There the shipments are exchanged between the partners. The regional hubs north and south fulfill the same function for their regions. The central hub and the responsible regional hub must be used by all partners on a daily basis. The majority of the shipments in the two-tier general cargo network of 24plus are not transported via hubs, but via direct transport between the partners. According to the company, the share of direct traffic is 80 percent.

In contrast to other cooperation networks in the logistics industry, 24plus is organized as an open cooperation. This means that the member companies of the cooperation are not obliged to process orders exclusively with the other companies of the cooperation. Rather, if they deem it more suitable, they can also work with other forwarding companies on a case-by-case basis. This is helpful, for example, when customers in certain business areas stipulate cooperation with a certain company that is not a member of the cooperation.

Although numerous companies of various sizes and orientations are members of the forwarding cooperation 24plus, all partners work with a consistent IT infrastructure.

European traffic

24plus logistics network is active in all European countries. Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, the Baltic States, Switzerland, Sweden as well as the Czech Republic and Hungary are served by 24plus via local forwarders who are also members of 24plus. In these countries, the offices of the local 24plus freight forwarders also take hub function .

The other countries of Europe are served by 24plus partners via gate traffic .

Products

The core business of the cooperation is in the area of general cargo overland transport. In addition, other additional logistical services are available, such as on-time guarantee delivery, procurement logistics, temperature-controlled transport, air and sea freight and cash on delivery.
