history

There was a previous structure at the site. This fell victim to what is believed to be the most serious fire disaster in the history of the city of Dundee in 1906, with a total damage of around £ 400,000. The fact that only a steel-reinforced concrete fragment of the previous structure survived the fire prompted the clients to use the Hennebique system for the new building . Probably at the same time, Yorkshire Hennebique Contracting was busy building a quay in the city.

Johnston & Baxter , which stored whiskey there for the production of blends , was the owner of the in- ground storage facility built in 1907 . Parts of the building were designated as customs warehouses . The western part of the camp was used by John Robertson . In 1981 the dazzling was discontinued and the bonded warehouse was closed in 1987.
