25 de Mayo (Veinticinco de Mayo) is a town in Uruguay .

geography

25 de Mayo is located in the Florida Department in Sector 12 . The place is in the western part of the department not far from the western border, formed by the Arroyo de la Virgen , to the neighboring San José district between Cuchilla del Pintado and Cuchilla de Santa Lucía . The closest settlements are Cardal in the south, Mendoza Chico in the south-east and Berrondo in the north-east, not far from the departmental capital Florida , also located there . The Arroyo Sauce , a tributary to the right of the Río Santa Lucía Chico that passes a few kilometers to the east, flows south-west of 25 de Mayo . On the northern edge of the town, the Arroyo Isla Mala , another tributary of the Río Santa Lucía Chico, which is also fed by the Arroyo de la Feliciana on the Paso Marengo, passes through .

25 de Mayo was founded on July 17, 1918 by Ley No. 6,196 categorized as pueblo .
