30 degree rule

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 30-degree rule states that an adjustment should be added to a film of an angle (relative to the axis of camera-image content, the "camera") axis that deviates by 30 degrees from the previous setting at least to a liquid, not to guarantee a cut that is perceived as erratic. The setting must be selected so that an axis jump is avoided.

A jumping section ( Jump Cut , however) can also be used consciously as a stylistic device as such. For example, the French Nouvelle Vague director Jean-Luc Godard made some of his films. The best-known example of this is out of breath (À bout de souffle) from 1959.
