338th Infantry Division (Wehrmacht)

The 338th Infantry Division (Wehrmacht) was a German infantry division during World War II . The division was set up on November 9, 1942 Warthelager military training area north of Posen in Wartheland . The division was severely decimated in heavy fighting in France in 1944 and refreshed in Freiburg in February 1945. The division came in April 1945 in the Ruhr Pocket in US captivity .
