The 37-mm-Geschütz M3 ( English 37 mm Gun M3 ) was a light American anti-tank gun from the prewar years of World War II . It was developed after intensive study of two 3.7 cm PaK 36s bought in Germany in 1937 , but it was not simply a copy.
It was installed in many vehicles, such as the Stuart range of light tanks . The gun was used in Africa, but soon proved to be too weak.
