3C303

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

3C303 or 3C 303 is a galaxy with a redshift of z = 0.141186 in the Bear Guardian constellation . The galaxy lies in a region with a few other galaxies and so it is not part of a galaxy cluster .

The galaxy has a jet that is 50 kpc long. In this jet, nodes were found in both the VLA radio signal and the Chandra X-ray signal . It was also demonstrated for the first time that jets emit electrically into space. In 3C303's Jet, that's 3.85 × 10 18 amps .

3C 303 is often confused with the similar quasar 3C 303C .
