European Fencing Championships 2016

The 29 European Fencing Championships were held from 20th bis 25. June 2016 in Toruń , Poland instead. The competitions were held in the Toruń Arena .

Competitions and schedule

The program comprised competitions in the disciplines épée, foil and saber, divided into individual and team as well as women and men. Therefore 12 gold and 12 silver medals were awarded. Since the third place was not fought in the individual, but in the team competitions, there are divided places and thus 18 bronze medals.

93 fencers from 31 nations took part in the epee singles. The winner was the Frenchman Yannick Borel in front of Max Heinzer (Switzerland) and the third-placed Jean-Michel Lucenay (France) and Bohdan Nikischyn (Ukraine). The competition took place on June 21st.
