European Fencing Championships 2001
The European Championships in fencing in 2001 took place from the 3rd to the 8th of July in Koblenz , and thus for the first time in Germany instead. A total of twelve competitions were held, namely individual and team competitions for women and men in epee, foil and saber. Since third place was not fought in the individual competitions and instead both semi-finalists shared third place, there were a total of twelve gold and silver medals and 18 bronze medals to be won. Italy led the medal table with 7 medals, including three gold medals, and Hungary won the most medals with 9 medals.
