Jelena Alexandrovna Netschajewa ( Russian Елена Александровна Нечаева ; born June 14, 1979 in Saint Petersburg , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian saber fencer .

successes

Jelena Netschajewa was first in 2001 in Nîmes , 2002 in Lisbon and 2004 in New York City with the team world champion , before she also won the individual title in 2007 in her native Saint Petersburg . 2005 she won also with the team in Leipzig silver, and in 2006 in Turin and 2007 in St. Petersburg Bronze. In 2002 she also won bronze individually. Another title win succeeded Netschajewa 2001 in Koblenz at the European championships in the individual competition. In the individual, she also won silver in Funchal in 2000 and in Moscow in 2002 and bronze in Bourges in 2003 . In the team competition she was European champion in 2000 in Funchal, 2002 in Moscow, 2003 in Bourges, 2004 in Copenhagen and 2006 in Izmir . In 2005 she finished second with the team in Zalaegerszeg and third in Ghent in 2007 . Twice Nechayeva took part in the Olympic Games : In 2004 she reached the quarter-finals of the individual competition in Athens , in which she was defeated by Tan Xue and thus finished fifth. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , she finished the individual competition in 17th place, while she was fifth with the Russian team.
