European Fencing Championships 2004

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Championships in fencing in 2004 took place from June 29 to July 4 in Copenhagen in Denmark instead. A total of twelve competitions were held in the Valby-Hallen , namely individual and team competitions for women and men in epee, foil and saber. As third place was not fought in the individual competitions and instead both semi-finalists shared third place, there were a total of twelve gold and silver medals and 18 bronze medals to be won.

The Russian team was by far the most successful team with a total of 14 medals, including five gold medals. Germany and Switzerland each won a gold medal, Austria a gold and a bronze medal.
