Karina Borissowna Asnawurjan ( Russian Карина Борисовна Азнавурян ; born September 20, 1974 in Baku , Azerbaijani SSR ) is a Russian sword fencer , two-time Olympic champion and world champion.

In 1996 Karina Asnawurjan took part in the Olympic Games in Atlanta for the first time and achieved bronze with the Russian epee team, in the individual she finished 20th. In 2000 she went back to the Olympic Games in Sydney and won with the team, in the individual it was 28th place. At the European Fencing Championships in Moscow in 2002 she received silver with the team, in 2003 she was team world champion in Havana . In 2004 she won the gold medal with the Russian team both in Copenhagen at the Fencing World Championships and at the Olympic Games in Athens .
