Xu Anqi ( Chinese 许安琪 , Pinyin Xǔ Ānqí ; born January 23, 1992 in Nanjing ) is a former Chinese sword fencer .
Career
Xu Anqi began fencing at the age of twelve and made her international debut in 2007. The right-hander was Asian champion with the team in 2010 and 2011 in Seoul , 2012 in Wakayama and 2013 in Shanghai , 2009 in Doha , 2015 in Singapore and 2016 in Wuxi won her silver. In individual, she won the title in 2013 and 2015. In addition, she was vice-Asian champion in individual two more times, in 2009 and 2016, and in 2012 she secured bronze. At the Asian Games in 2010 in Guangzhou and in 2014 in Incheon , she won a gold medal with the team. In 2010 the Chinese team won silver, followed by a gold medal in 2014. In singles, Xu won bronze in 2010 after losing to her teammate Luo Xiaojuan in the semi-finals .
With the team, Xu was also successful at world championships . She was part of the team that became world champions in Moscow in 2015 . In 2013 she was runner-up with the team. She secured her only medal in the individual in 2015 with bronze. In the semifinals she was eliminated by Emma Samuelsson at 12:15. Xu took part in the Olympic Games twice. In 2012 in London she reached the final against South Korea together with Li Na , Luo Xiaojuan and Sun Yujie after victories over Germany and Russia . After a 39:25 success, Xu became Olympic champion. She was not nominated for the individual. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she finished 17th in the individual. With the team, which consisted of Hao Jialu , Sun Yiwen and Sun Yujie in addition to Xu , they were able to move into the final against Romania , which was lost 38:44 , after victories against Ukraine and Estonia .
Xu is married to fencer Wang Sen .
