Luo Xiaojuan ( Chinese 骆晓娟 , Pinyin Luò Xiǎojuān ; born June 12, 1984 in Dafeng ) is a former Chinese sword fencer .
Career
Luo Xiaojuan was internationally successful mainly with the team. At the continental level, however, she was also able to achieve individual successes. Between 2005 and 2012 she was Asian champion with the Chinese team six times . In addition, she was vice-Asian champion with the team in 2009 . In singles, she won the title in 2005 in Kota Kinabalu with a final victory over Qin Lanlan and in 2009 in Doha with a final victory over her compatriot Xu Anqi . In 2008 and 2010 she was second behind the South Korean Jung Hyo-jung and Li Na from China. At the Asian Games in Doha in 2006 , she won the gold medal with the team after beating South Korea, four years later in Guangzhou, behind Japan, the silver medal. In the individual, she also won gold in 2006, after beating Xu Anqi in the semifinals with 15:14 and then with 13:10 against Nozomi Nakano from Japan. At world championships , Luo secured five medals with the team. 2002 in Lisbon , she won bronze in 2008 in Beijing , 2011 in Catania and in 2013 in Budapest silver. In Turin Luo became team world champion in 2006 together with Li Na, Zhang Li and Zhong Weiping . Her best result in the individual was eleventh place, which she was able to achieve in Paris in 2010 . At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , she and the team that included Li Na, Sun Yujie and Xu Anqi in addition to Luo , after victories against Germany and Russia , moved into the final against South Korea , which was won 39:25. In the individual she was defeated in her opening match Sarra Besbès from Tunisia with 9:15 and reached the 17th place. She played her last international tournament at the 2013 World Championships , where she finished 63rd.
