Fencing World Championships 2008
The fencing world championship 2008 took place from April 18th to 20th, 2008 in the Chinese capital Beijing . The International Fencing Federation and the Organizing Committee of the 2008 Summer Olympics (BOCOG) agreed to hold the competitions four months before the start of the games. The event is intended to serve as a test of the Olympic venues.
China hosted the World Fencing Championships for the first time . Only the two team competitions in the men's floret and women's epee, which are not part of the Olympic program, were on the program.
