Hajnalka Király-Picot (born March 2, 1971 in Veszprém ) is a former Hungarian - French sword fencer .

successes

Hajnalka Király-Picot achieved almost all international successes in team competition. With the Hungarian team, she became world champion in Essen in 1993 , in Cape Town in 1997 and in Lisbon in 2002 , and in 1994 she took second place with her in Athens . At the European Championships in 2001 in Koblenz she achieved the only podium place with third place, in the team competition she meanwhile secured the title. In the following year a second place followed with the team. Since 2002 Király has been married to the French Patrick Picot , who became Olympic champion in epee fencing with the team in 1980 . From 2003, after having lived in France for a long time, she competed internationally under the French flag. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she and the French team reached the battle for bronze after a victory against China and a defeat against Germany , which was won against Canada 45:37. Király-Picot won bronze with Laura Flessel-Colovic , Sarah Daninthe and Maureen Nisima . In the individual she finished 15th. In 2008 in Beijing she finished the individual competition in eleventh place. With France she was also successful at world and European championships: in 2005 in Leipzig , 2006 in Turin and 2008 in Beijing, she was world champion with France and in 2007 second in St. Petersburg . There were also two bronze medals at the European Championships in Ghent in 2007 and in Leipzig in 2010 .
