Dominik Behr

Dominik Behr (born March 4, 1981 in Würzburg ) is a former German foil fencer . He is multiple German champion , two-time European champion and won seven medals at world championships.

Life

Dominik Behr was born in 1981 in Würzburg, the son of Matthias Behr . Behr fought for FC Tauberbischofsheim . After a serious car accident in 1998, Behr had to take a year off. The doctors even doubted whether he would ever be able to do competitive sports again. Since completing his business studies in 2007, he has been working as the sports director of the fencing club Würth Künzelsau. In 2011 he ended his active career and since then has worked for the company Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG in addition to his coaching and manager activities at FC Würth Künzelsau. Behr married in 2013.

successes

In his youth he won gold with the team at the Junior World Championships in 1998 and 2001 in Gdansk and Valencia (Venezuela) . He was also able to win the gold medal with the team at the European Championships in Koblenz in 2001 and Ghent in 2007, and the bronze medal in Leipzig in 2009 . At the World Championships in Havana in 2003 and in Leipzig in 2005 he won the bronze medal with the team. He secured the runner-up title with the team at the 2006 World Championships in Turin , 2007 in St. Petersburg , 2008 in Beijing and 2009 in Antalya .
