Richard Breutner (born September 10, 1979 in Johannesburg , South Africa ) is a German foil fencer and German champion .

Life

Breutner was in the B national team of the German Fencing Federation from 2005 to 2010 . He has been fighting for OFC Bonn since 2008 , before he was active at Königsbacher FC.

successes

Richard Breutner won the Junior World Championships in Valencia in 1998 with the foil team, in 1999 in Keszthely also with the team and also silver in the individual. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 he finished seventh in the singles after a 9:15 defeat in the quarterfinals against Frenchman Jean-Noël Ferrari . In the team competition he took sixth place with Ralf Bißdorf , Wolfgang Wienand and David Hausmann .

In 2002 he won bronze with the team at the European Championships in Moscow , in 2003 it was bronze in the individual, in 2004 he became European champion in the individual . With the foil team made up of Peter Joppich , Benjamin Kleibrink and Dominik Behr , he was runner-up at the 2006 and 2008 World Championships . He also took several places in the finals at World Cups and German championships.
