Sebastian Bachmann (born November 24, 1986 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a German foil fencer . He is five times German champion .

Bachmann was German Junior Champion in 2005 and 2006. In 2004 he and his team won the team ranking at the Junior European Championships, in 2005 he was a member of the second-placed team at the Junior World Championships. In 2008 he was runner-up at the U23 European Championships. In 2009 he received bronze at the European championships and silver at the world championships with the team . In 2011 he won team bronze at the World Championships . His best placement in the individual ranking was sixth at the 2011 European Championships .

In 2012 he won the battle for bronze at the European Championships in Legnano against the Russian team. He also won bronze with the team at the 2012 Olympic Games against the USA team, after the German team lost almost 40:41 to the Japanese team in the semifinals after controversial referee decisions. In 2013 he was European team champion in Zagreb .

Bachmann fought for the Tauberbischofsheim fencing club until June 30, 2008 , after which he competed for the OFC Bonn . Since the end of 2012 he has been training in Tauberbischofsheim again. From 2006 to 2008 , 2012 and 2013 he was German team champion with his respective club.

At the European Fencing Championships 2015 in Montreux , Bachmann won the bronze medal with the German foil team.

Bachmann is a sports soldier ( Oberfeldwebel in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Cologne). He first studied business informatics at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and moved to the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in the 2013/14 winter semester .
