Li Na ( Chinese  李娜 , Pinyin Lǐ Nà * 9. March 1981 in Dandong ) is a Chinese sword - fencer .

Already in 2000 Li started at the Olympic Games in Sydney , where she won the bronze medal with the sword team led by Liang Qin and Yang Shaoqi , the third Olympic fencing medal ever for China. In the individual, Li Na was 30. In the games four years later Li took part for the second time, but this time she missed a medal both in the individual as ninth and in the team as sixth. The Fencing World Championships 2006 in Turin ended for Li together with teammates Luo Xiaojuan , Zhang Li and Zhong Weiping with the gold medal after they had beaten the French team in the final.

In 2007 in Nantong and in 2008 in Bangkok she was Asian champion in singles.

Also in 2008 in Beijing Li Na, again took placed at number four participate in the Olympics. After she had defeated the Swiss Sophie Lamon and the French Laura Flessel-Colovic in the last sixteen and quarter finals, she failed in the semifinals due to her friend Britta Heidemann , although she had already taken the lead. Li also lost the battle for bronze against Ildikó Mincza-Nébald , so that she remained without an individual medal in her third Olympic Games. In 2008 there was no epee team competition.

At the 2011 World Championships in Catania , Li Na became individual world champion for the first time, plus a silver medal with the team. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , she failed again in the third round to Britta Heidemann, but she won the Olympic gold with the team.
