Lyubow Andrejewna Schutowa ( Russian Любовь Андреевна Шутова ; born June 25, 1983 in Novosibirsk , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a Russian sword fencer .
successes
Lyubov Shutova began fencing at the age of twelve. In 2002, at the age of 19, the right-hander won the bronze medal at the European Championships in Moscow . It then took seven years before she reached the next podium finish internationally. In 2007 she was runner-up behind France with the team in St. Petersburg . The following year she was part of the Russian delegation to the 2008 Olympic Games in Athens . In the individual competition , she moved into the quarter-finals, in which she lost to future finalist Ana Maria Brânză with 13:15. Schutova achieved her greatest success in 2009 when she won the individual world championship in Antalya . In the final battle she beat Sherraine Schalm 9: 8. Following the European Championships in the same year, she took a baby break. In 2010, Schutova, who is married, became the mother of a daughter.
It was not until 2011 that she was back on the planche and was able to win the silver medal with the team at the European Championships in Sheffield . At the European Championships in 2012 she reached the final again with the team and this time also secured the title against Romania . After 2002, she won her second bronze medal in singles. Shutova and the team narrowly missed a medal win at the second Olympic participation in London . After an opening win against Ukraine , the team was eliminated in the semi-finals against China . In the battle for bronze she then lost to the United States with 30:31. In the individual she finished 23rd. After a year without winning a medal, 2014 was more successful again. With the team, Schutova became vice European champion in Strasbourg and world champion in Kazan . At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro she won in the individual ranking 26th with the team, in addition Schutowa from Wioletta Kolobowa , Olga Kotschnewa and Tatjana Logunowa was, she stood up against Romania in the battle for the bronze medal after a victory against France and a defeat Estonia , which was won 37:31.
