Mara Navarria (born July 18, 1985 in Udine ) is an Italian sword fencer .

successes

Mara Navarria won bronze at world championships with the team in 2011 in Catania and 2014 in Kazan . In the individual, she secured her first medal in Wuxi in 2018 , when she won the title with a final victory against Ana Maria Popescu . In 2010 she was also vice European champion in the team competition in Leipzig . Bronze medals with the team followed in 2014 in Strasbourg , 2015 in Montreux and 2019 in Düsseldorf . In their only Olympic participation in 2012 in London , Navarria was eliminated in the second round of the individual and ultimately finished 17th. With the Italian team, they finished the team competition in seventh place. In 2010, 2012 and 2016 she was Italian individual champion.

Navarria fights as a sports soldier for the Centro Sportivo Olimpico dell'Esercito of the Italian army . She is married and has a son (* 2013).
