Joanna Maja Jakimiuk (born August 24, 1975 in Wroclaw ) is a former Polish sword fencer .
Career
Joanna Jakimiuk won the bronze medal at the World Championships with the team in Athens in 1994 . The following year she became world champion in the individual competition after beating Gyöngyi Szalay in the final. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , she was eliminated in the second round of the individual and ultimately finished 21st. 1998 Jakimiuk secured bronze at the European Championships in Plovdiv again in the team competition.
