Schutowa (Ukrainian Шутова ; Russian Шутова / Schutowa , Polish Szutowa ) is a village in the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine with about 400 inhabitants.
The village is located in the west of the historical landscape of Galicia in Jaworiw Raion south of the Vishomlja River (Віжомля), about 10 kilometers southwest of the Jaworiw Rajon center and 53 kilometers west of the Lviv oblast center.
The village belongs together with two other villages to the district municipality of Kalynivka ( Калинівська сільська рада Kalyniwska silska rada ).
The place arose after the end of the First World War in Poland , was officially named Szutowa from 1929 and from 1934 as the capital of the Lemberg , Powiat Jaworów , Gmina Szutowa voivodeships and was only part of the Soviet Union during the Second World War and from 1941 to 1944 occupied by Germany and attached to the district of Galicia . After being reconquered by Soviet troops in 1944, it came back to the Soviet Union in 1945 and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR , since 1991 the place has been part of today's Ukraine.
