Sun Yiwen ( Chinese  孙一文 , Pinyin Sūn Yīwén ; born June 17, 1992 in Qixia ) is a Chinese sword fencer .

Career

Sun Yiwen started fencing in 2006. The left-hander was Asian champion in Singapore in 2015 , in Hong Kong in 2017 and in Bangkok in 2018 with the team , and vice- Asian champion in 2014 , 2016 and 2019 . In 2017, she achieved bronze in singles. At the Asian Games she won the gold medal with the team in Incheon in 2014 and in Jakarta in 2018, and in 2018 she won silver in the individual competition. With the crew, Sun was also withWorld championships successful. She was part of the team that won bronze in Leipzig in 2017 and silver in Wuxi in 2018 .

At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she reached the individual semi-finals, in which she was defeated by Rossella Fiamingo 11:12. In the battle for third place, she then prevailed against Lauren Rembi with 15:11 and thus secured the bronze medal. With the team, which in addition to Sun consisted of Hao Jialu , Xu Anqi and Sun Yujie , they stood in the final against Romania after victories against Ukraine and Estonia , which was lost 38:44. Sun remained the silver medal.
