Stanislaw Alexejewitsch Posdnjakow ( Russian Станислав Алексеевич Поздняков ; born September 27, 1973 in Novosibirsk ) is a Russian saber - fencer . He was four times Olympic champion and won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games and ten world championship titles.

Career

At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona Stanislav Posdnjakow started for the United Team and won the gold medal with the Saber team. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , he was Olympic champion both individually and with the team. While Posdnjakow was able to defend the title with the team at the 2000 Summer Olympics , he only reached ninth place there in the individual. Four years later, at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , he finished sixth in the singles and won bronze with the team.

Between 1994 and 2007 Stanislaw Posdnjakow won a total of ten world championship titles in the individual and with the team, was vice world champion five times and won two world championship bronze.

His daughter Sofija Posdnyakova is also a fencer.
