Alexander Sergejewitsch Shirschow
Alexander Sergejewitsch Schirschow ( Russian Александр Сергеевич Ширшов ; born August 25, 1972 in Moscow ) is a Russian saber fencer , Olympic champion and world champion.
successes
In 1991, Schirschow won silver with the Soviet saber team at the World Championships in Budapest . At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he won gold in the team under the flag of the United Team , in the saber singles it was thirteenth place. In 1994 he became team world champion in Athens , from now on under the Russian flag. At the World Championships in 1995 and 1997 , he won silver with the team. In 2000 he was European team champion in Madeira .
