Renato Anselmi (born October 26, 1891 in Marigliano , † October 3, 1973 in Genoa ) was an Italian saber fencer and Generale di Divisione .

Career

Renato Anselmi became vice world champion with the team in Liège in 1930 and in Vienna in 1931 . He took part in the Olympic Games three times . In 1924 he remained in Paris in the team competition with the Italian team without defeat and became Olympic champion together with Giulio Sarrocchi , Guido Balzarini , Marcello Bertinetti , Bino Bini , Oreste Moricca , Oreste Puliti and Vincenzo Cuccia . At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , he moved with the team one more time in the final round, which Italy finished this time behind Hungary in second place. Together with Giulio Sarrocchi, Bino Bini, Gustavo Marzi , Oreste Puliti and Emilio Salafia , he won the silver medal. In 1932 in Los Angeles he secured another second place, again behind Hungary, together with Giulio Gaudini , Gustavo Marzi, Ugo Pignotti , Emilio Salafia and Arturo De Vecchi a second silver medal. In 1929 and 1930 he was Italian single champion with the saber.

Anselmi was an engineer and made a career in the Italian military. He retired as Generale di Divisione and was honored for his services as Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy .
