József Rády (born September 22, 1884 in Szekszárd , † October 11, 1957 in Balatonkenese ) was a Hungarian fencer .
Career
József Rády fought with the saber, the sword and the foil. In 1924 he won the silver medal with the saber team at the Olympic Games in Paris . At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 he was eliminated in the semifinals in the epee singles. Furthermore, he was part of the Hungarian team in all team competitions: with the Degen team he did not get past the first round, while he finished fifth with the foil team. With the saber team, he managed to get into the final round undefeated, in which this also remained without defeat. Together with János Garay , Sándor Gombos , Attila Petschauer , Gyula Glykais and Ödön Tersztyánszky, Rády became Olympic champion . Two years later he became world champion with the Saber team in Liège . In 1931 he won the vice world championship with the foil team. At the national level he was Hungarian champion twelve times, three of them individually.
