Gianfranco Dalla Barba (born June 11, 1957 in Padua ) is a former Italian saber fencer .
successes
Gianfranco Dalla Barba was vice world champion in 1983 in Vienna in singles and in 1979 in Melbourne and 1982 in Rome with the team . With this he also won bronze in 1978 in Hamburg and 1983 in Vienna. Dalla Barba took part in two Olympic Games : In 1984 he was in the final fight with the Italian team in Los Angeles , in which France was defeated 9: 3. Thus he became Olympic champion together with Angelo Arcidiacono , Ferdinando Meglio , Marco Marin and Giovanni Scalzo . He finished the individual competition in ninth place. Another medal won Dalla Barba 1988 in Seoul , when he became Massimo Cavaliere secured, Ferdinando Meglio, Marco Marin and Giovanni Scalzo in the team event bronze. In the individual he was tenth after he was eliminated in the second round of the hopes in 1984. In 1982 and 1984 he was Italian individual champion.
