Bence Szabó (fencer, 1962)

Bence Szabó (* 13. June 1962 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian saber - fencers . Between 1988 and 1996 he won two gold and two silver medals at the Olympic Games .

Career

Bence Szabó took part in the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul and won the gold medal there with the saber team. Four years later, at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , Szabó became Olympic champion in the saber singles. He also won silver with the team, which he was able to repeat at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta . In Atlanta he finished 17th in the singles.

At the fencing world championships in 1993 in Essen , Bence Szabó was vice world champion, in 1994 in Athens he reached third place. With the team Szabó was vice world champion at the fencing world championships in 1990 in Lyon , at the home world championships in 1991 in Budapest he was world champion. Szabó was able to defend this team title in 1993 in Essen. In 1994 he won silver with the team in Athens and bronze at the 1995 World Fencing Championships in The Hague .

In 1991 at the European Fencing Championships in Vienna, he won both individually and with the team.
