Viktor Alexandrovich Sidjak
Viktor Alexandrowitsch Sidjak ( Russian Виктор Александрович Сидяк ; born November 21, 1943 in Anhero-Sudschensk ) is a former Soviet saber fencer . He won four gold medals as well as one silver and one bronze medal in four Olympic competitions. Sidjak was also a seven-time world champion.
Career
At the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City , Wiktor Sidjak won gold with the saber team. He could not quite repeat this success at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich and won silver with the team. In the individual, however, he won the gold medal. In Montreal , Sidjak won the bronze medal in singles at the 1976 Summer Olympics . With the team he won gold again, which Sidjak was able to repeat four years later at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow .
In 1969 Wiktor Sidjak became world champion in individual. In 1969, 1970 , 1971 , 1974 , 1975 and 1979 he won the world title with the team.
