Gastone Darè (born February 18, 1918 in Suzzara , † June 7, 1976 in Mantua ) was an Italian saber fencer and politician .

Life

Gastone Darè was the individual world champion in Cairo in 1949 and also won bronze in Lisbon in 1947 , in Monte Carlo in 1950 and in Stockholm in 1951 . In 1947, 1949 and 1950 he won the world title with the team and took second place with her in 1951 in Stockholm, 1953 in Brussels and 1955 in Rome . He took part in three Olympic Games in the saber competitions: In 1948 Darè in London with the Italian team took second place behind Hungary and received the silver medal together with Mauro Racca , Aldo Montano , Renzo Nostini , Vincenzo Pinton and Carlo Turcato . He finished the individual competition in sixth.
