Mario Aldo Montano (born May 1, 1948 in Livorno ) is a former Italian fencer .

successes

Mario Aldo Montano took part in three Olympic Games and won a medal in each of them. In 1972 he became Olympic champion in Munich with the team led by Michele Maffei , his cousin Mario Tullio Montano , Rolando Rigoli and Cesare Salvadori . In the individual, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals. In 1976 he won the silver medal with the team in Montreal . In the final, the Italian team met the Soviet Union , whose team won the battle 9: 4. He finished the individual competition in fifth place. Another silver medal he won in 1980 in Moscow with the team again after the Soviet Union.
