Tommaso Montano (born March 14, 1953 in Livorno ) is a former Italian fencer .
successes
Tommaso Montano took part in the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , where he won the silver medal as part of the saber team. After victories over Canada , the United States , France and Hungary , the Italian team met the Soviet Union , which won the battle 9: 4.
Life
He comes from a large fencing family, with one exception all saber fencers. His uncle was Aldo Montano (silver medal Olympia 1936 and 1948 , world champion 1938 ), his cousin is Mario Aldo Montano ( Olympic champion 1972 and silver medal 1976 and 1980 , world champion 1973 and 1974 ), his brothers are Carlo Montano (silver medal Olympia 1976 in foil) and Mario Tullio Montano ( Olympic champion 1972 and silver medal 1976 ). His nephew Aldo Montano was also a fencer ( Olympic champion 2004 , world champion 2011 ).
