Carlo Montano (born September 25, 1952 in Livorno ) is a former Italian fencer .

successes

Carlo Montano took part in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , where he was eliminated with the foil team after the first round. In 1976 he won the silver medal with the team in Montreal . After three wins in the first round and successes over the United States and France , the Italian team met Germany , whose team won the battle 9: 6. In the individual, he finished 26th. At world championships he was runner-up four times, three times with the team and 1974 in the individual. There were also three bronze medals.

Life

He comes from a large fencing family, except himself all saber fencers. His uncle was Aldo Montano (silver medal Olympia 1936 and 1948 , world champion 1938 ), his cousin is Mario Aldo Montano ( Olympic champion 1972 and silver medal 1976 and 1980 , world champion 1973 and 1974 ), his brothers are Tommaso Montano (silver medal Olympia 1976 ) and Mario Tullio Montano ( Olympic champion 1972 and silver medal 1976 ). His nephew Aldo Montano ( Olympic Champion 2004 , World Champion 2011 ) was also a fencer.
