Guido Balzarini (born October 21, 1874 in Arrone , † 1935 in Rome ) was an Italian saber fencer .
successes
Guido Balzarini took part in the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris with success, as he took first place with the team undefeated. Together with Renato Anselmi , Marcello Bertinetti , Bino Bini , Vincenzo Cuccia , Oreste Moricca , Oreste Puliti and Giulio Sarrocchi , Balzarini, who only played in the quarter-final match against the United States , but won all the battles, became Olympic champion . At the age of 49 he is the oldest Olympic champion in Italian Olympic history . Of all Olympic fencing champions, only the Hungarian Aladár Gerevich was older at the time of his Olympic victory in 1960.
