Gaël Roger Touya (born October 23, 1973 in Longeville-lès-Metz ) is a former French saber fencer . He became an Olympic and world champion.

successes

Gaël Touya had his greatest successes with the French saber team. In 1997 he became world champion with her in Cape Town , the following year in La Chaux-de-Fonds the team was again in the battle for gold, which they lost to Hungary . At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , he reached 19th place in the individual. In the team competition, after victories against China and the United States, he reached the final against Italy , in which France prevailed 45:42. Touya became Olympic champion together with his brother Damien and Julien Pillet . After the Olympic victory he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor .

His sister Anne-Lise Touya was also active in saber fencing .
