Jaudrais is a French municipality with 406 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Eure-et-Loir in the region Center-Val de Loire (2015 Center ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Dreux and the community association Forêts du Perche . The inhabitants are called Jaudraisiens .

geography

The municipality of Jaudrais is located in the northeast of the Perche countryside , about 32 kilometers northwest of Chartres . The Ruisseau Saint-Martin stream, which rises in Jaudrais, drains north to the Blaise . The 15.3 km² large municipal area shows a mixture of pasture land and small forests. The districts of Les Haies Neuves, Le Bois de Coudre and La Cour d'Aumoy as well as other hamlets and individual farms belong to the municipality . Jaudrais is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Maillebois in the north, Saint-Maixme-Hauterive in the northeast and east, Digny in the south, Senonches in the southwest and Le Mesnil-Thomas in the west and northwest.

Attractions

  • Saint-Jean-Baptiste church from 1520 with extensions in the 19th century; after severe damage in June 1940, the nave was demolished, a monument historique since 1975

Economy and Infrastructure

Six farms are located in the community (grain cultivation, seed multiplication, pasture management and cattle breeding). Jaudrais is connected to the surrounding communities by several departmental roads. 23 kilometers to the east there is a connection to the motorway-like route nationale 154 from Dreux to Chartres .
